FAQ's

We can imagine that you still have questions about our vacancy. The position 'cutter' is not one that comes up regularly. This is because only a few companies are fully focused on producing cuttings of garden plants. Because we are basically a (tree) nursery it is even possible that wrong conclusions are drawn about the work. Therefore, we have listed the most frequently asked questions (+ answers).

Q: Isn't it much too hot to work in your nursery during the summer?

A: Not at all. Our cutters are in a well-insulated workroom, equipped with air conditioning. On hot days you can be even better in there than outside!

Q: My brother/neighbor/cousin/etc once worked in a nursery. This was hard work. Is it the same with you guys?

A: Far from it. We produce cuttings, which makes us the 'cradle' of nursery products. That means the babies, the very little ones. Our employees, sitting at the table, cut the cuttings to size. Because this is production work, we naturally expect some pace. But it doesn't get any harder than that.

Q: Do I necessarily have to be available throughout the period?

A: No, that is not necessary. On the form you can indicate exactly when and until when you are available.

Q: I am not able to work full-time. Can I also apply if I can work part-time?

A: Yes, you can. On the form you can indicate the days you can work during this period. For the sake of continuity we prefer that these days are for the entire period and not revised per week.

Q: Is the work as a cutter varied?

A: Every cutting you make as a cutter can be different. You will constantly have to watch carefully how you cut the best cuttings. Although we work with many different species and various techniques, in all honesty, work as a cutter is not immediately very varied. Yet many find it far from boring! (see next question)

Q: What makes the work as a cutter fun to do?

A: As a team, you produce countless new plants every day. You do this sitting at a table in a bright, air-conditioned workroom. While cutting, you can listen to the music on the radio or have an 'anti-social' chat with your colleague (because looking at each other while simultaneously cutting plugs to size is obviously not convenient...). What we also frequently see are cutters who are completely in their own minds. They call it therapy. And that just during working hours!
